YESSS....its finally here.

i got this awsome deal on this Canon Rebel XT. i had to get the battery and the flash card seperately but overall it came pretty well under the average sale price for these things....so wooot for me bitches

im still waiting for the battery and the card which should be here tomorrow. still though from what i can see the SLR function is pretty awesome and the lens is detachable so you can upgrade to better ones maybe some macros. pic size is 8.1 mega pixle. well thats all i know for now more will come after i get it going

OK....I didnt yet get a digital SLR (but soon enough will) however, i also found something just as much exciting. I was rummaging through old junk around the house when I found this Yashica Electro GSN 35mm camera. Its absolutly freaking awesome....

My dad had bought it long ago but put it in storage for years and it went unused, and because of that its still in mint condition and works perfectly. it was in a case so all parts are pristine too. Interestingly, this model was made in 1973 so this one now is 34 YEARS OLD !!!
I tried to put in a film and take some shots but after the reel was spent i figured that it wasnt set in right so i dont know how the pics will turn out till they are developed. Also it lets you set the focus and exposure using indicator lights on top which unfortunately dont work now because it needs a special battery which ,again unfortunately, is no longer in production so you need an adapter for another battery of the same voltage. it has a self timer too thats activated by pulling down a lever on the lens and you can hear all the mechanism as it moves the gears around. you can also set the ISO settings by turning a dial on top but this camera uses ASA instead of ISO, but they are both the equvilent so thats not a problem. I am waiting for the battery adapeters that i ordered after that i should pop in some film and take practice shots and it takes some pretty brilliant shots based on some iv seen online.

you know that feeling you get when you want something really bad even though you dont really need it but you just have to have it because thats the only way you'll be satisfied ...? yes i know that feeling and have way to it many times. philisophical shit aside....im looking to buy me a DSLR camera. i looked around the internet for hours searching for a suitable one but have not come across any one i desire mainly because they are pretty fucking expensive. the cheapest one around is somewhere near $200 bucks which is not too much of a problem in the long run but it gets pretty frustrating when you start reading reviews and specs and get confused and end up at the beggining trying to sort the shit out. there are a couple of contenders that i have my eyes on but there are also some really good point-and-shoot (PS) cameras out there too good for begginers that actuly come quite close to some low end DSLR cameras which is another predicament in of itself. now i already have two ps cameras but i cant really do much with them except the basic pic taking expected from any average digital cameras but when it comes to the high end photography you really need the high end equipment. so far iv able to narrow down my choices to
Canon EOS Digital Rebel and
Pentax K100d or
Fuji FinePix S700
now the first two are full DSLR cameras and the last one is a close runner up point and shoot and is suppose to match the DSLR cameras in some respects. most of my "research" has pointed to the Pentax as a good choice for the begginer whereas the Canon works both for beginners and experts so thats a solid choice regardless. the Fuji, however, is not a DSLR but has the capability and some functions found in DSLR cameras and is somewhat cheaper in price compared to the other two and i have seen some shots taken by the FinePix and the do look pretty acceptable as decent semi-professional photographs so i should keep that on top of the list otherwise my choice remiain firm on the Pentax.
so as far as i know, the DSLR cameras offer much more customizability compared to the simple point and shoot cameras and have much more options with regard to lens and flash types. they can offer much more optical zooming and much better macro shots (which i particularly want to do) along with better ISO settings and focus ranging which if used right can be pretty fucking phenomenal when trying to bring your photos to life.
now i am open to suggestions and direction. anyone who knows about DSLR cameras feel free to drop a tip as to what works best
AND semster starts tomorrow.....another 5 months of snoozing in class and blowing shit up in the lab. wish me luck cuz I WANT A FUCKING A
and sorry no boobies
